Texarkana to Host Governor's Small Business Forum

The City of Texarkana, Texas, in partnership with the Governor’s Office, the Texas Workforce Commission, and Workforce Solutions of Northeast Texas, will be hosting a free Small Business Forum October 26 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center.

Local entrepreneurs and small business owners are invited to attend the forum and can register here. The event will include complimentary breakfast and lunch for attendees. Guests will hear from a variety of local experts as they share their insight and experiences in the world of small business ownership.

“We are very excited to host the Governor’s Small Business Forum in Texarkana,” said Shirley Jaster, interim city manager. “It is an honor to have such a beneficial event here and we are looking forward to highlighting the resources that Texarkana and the state of Texas has to offer small business owners.”

Keynote speakers include Sonja Hubbard, CEO of EZ-Mart, and Bryan Daniel, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism. Panel discussions and presentations will cover finance, real estate, intellectual property and employment law. In addition, nominated small businesses will be presented with State of Texas Small Business Awards.
