CDBG CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Created by Ordinance 121-2002; amended by Ordinance 161-04

ORGANIZATION: The CDBG Citizens Advisory Committee shall consist of eleven (11) members.

APPOINTMENT: Two appoints from each of the following wards: Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, Ward and Ward 4. One appointment each from Ward 5 and Ward 6, and one appointment by the Mayor.

TERM OF OFFICE: Each member shall serve a three (3) year term and may be reappointed for unlimited three (3) year terms. Two (2) unexcused meeting absences shall be grounds for removal of the member from the committee.

DUTIES AND POWERS: To assist the Department of Community Development in assessment of needs that can be addressed through the use of CDBG funds received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and provide recommendations to the City staff for the use of CDBG funds in conjunction with the preparation of the City's annual Action Plan which must be submitted to HUD before funds can be received and expended.
