CONCRETE FINISHER/OPERATOR

The City of Texarkana, Texas is currently accepting applications for the position of Concrete Finisher/Operator.

Responsibilities include:

Applicant selected will perform skilled concrete finishing work, building complicated concrete forms for the repair of concrete bridge abutments, columns, and slabs, tying structural steel, and directing the pouring of concrete. Employee will float, dust, trowel, groove, and edge concrete surfaces. Employee will also drive a dump truck to transport supplies or materials.

Qualifications include:

Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or GED; have at least three (3) years experience in construction work, including two (2) years at journeyman-level work in concrete finishing and one (1) year supervisory experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, substituting a maximum of two (2) years. A valid Texas Drivers License Class “A” CDL or the ability to obtain one within sixty (60) days of hire is required. Position open until filled.
